Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all Northcast services, including the audit platform, Northcast Inbox (AI receptionist), voice agents, hosted websites, and managed services. This AUP supplements and is incorporated into the Terms of Service and Master Services Agreement.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Northcast services to:

2.1 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Violate any applicable federal, provincial, or local law or regulation
  • Facilitate fraud, phishing, identity theft, or financial scams
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Engage in harassment, threats, defamation, or hate speech
  • Distribute or promote illegal products or services

2.2 Spam and Unsolicited Communications

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages through Inbox, voice agents, or any Northcast channel
  • Use voice agents to make calls without proper consent under CASL and CRTC rules
  • Harvest contact information from Northcast systems for unsolicited outreach
  • Configure AI systems to mislead recipients about the sender's identity or the commercial nature of the communication

2.3 Misuse of AI Systems

  • Configure AI receptionist or voice agents to impersonate real individuals
  • Use AI systems to generate false reviews, testimonials, or endorsements
  • Deliberately configure AI with false business information to deceive customers
  • Attempt to use AI systems to circumvent content moderation or safety filters
  • Use AI-generated audit reports to make false claims about competitors

2.4 Technical Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Northcast systems, other users' accounts, or data
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Northcast services
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or usage restrictions
  • Use automated tools to mass-generate audits, messages, or API requests
  • Interfere with the operation of Northcast services or infrastructure
  • Resell, sublicense, or share access to Northcast services without authorization

2.5 Content Restrictions

  • Upload or transmit content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Use Northcast-hosted websites to distribute copyrighted material without authorization
  • Store or process regulated data categories (health records, financial data subject to PCI-DSS, data from minors under 13) without prior written agreement with Northcast

3. Enforcement

Northcast reserves the right to:

  • Investigate suspected violations of this AUP
  • Suspend or terminate services immediately upon discovery of a material violation
  • Remove content that violates this AUP
  • Report illegal activities to appropriate law enforcement authorities
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations as required by law

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after taking enforcement action, except where: (a) we are legally prohibited from providing notice; (b) immediate action is necessary to prevent harm to others; or (c) providing notice would compromise an investigation.

4. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected]. Include as much detail as possible, including the nature of the violation, any relevant URLs or account identifiers, and evidence if available.

5. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with at least thirty (30) days advance notice. Continued use of Northcast services after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
